     Reiki increases the flow of emotional expression and self-expression, and encourages spiritual growth, creativity and wholeness.  Anyone can learn Reiki because healing is a natural ability in all people.
     Learning Reiki has been separated into two degrees, or levels, the first degree and the second degree. Learning Reiki involves attending a two day course.  During the courses one will go through an initiation process which attunes and increases ones ability to focus Reiki, or Universal Life Force Energy though their hands. The courses also include instructions on how to give a Reiki session for general health maintenance and for specific conditions, as well as the history and discussion of its uses. The desire to learn and the initiation process are all one needs to begin using Reiki.

     For some, Reiki is spiritual; for some, it’s physical; and for others, it’s both. Reiki restores balance and harmony. In increases physical strength and vitality; and brings clarity of mind and purpose. As well, Reiki enhances your natural gifts, talents and abilities, increases the flow of emotional expression and self-expression and encourages spiritual growth, enlightenment, creativity and wholeness.

Reiki I
Reiki one is considered to be the self-healing degree, where one learns how to use Reiki energy to heal personal physical injuries or physical pain.

  • Greeting and group discussion of what everyone thinks Reiki is

  • A literal definition of what Reiki means

  • The story of how Reiki was re-discovered and brought to the Western society

  • Description of how the healing cycle works and what Reiki can do to help

  • The use of Reiki with First Aid and other Western practices

  • Lessons of differentiating Reiki energy from self-energy, or “Ki-Ki”

  • Instructions on how to discipline the mind (focus thought) to optimize a Reiki treatment

  • Definition and explanation of Chakras and the workings of the human energy system

  • Meditation exercises to help balance the body and energy system

  • Description of the 28 hand positions used in modern Reiki

  • Instruction on how to feel ones’ own energy field

  • Initiation of Reiki, or attunement (It’s like tuning a Radio to receive a certain frequency)

  • Practice “scanning” using Reiki to identify problems within the body or in the human energy field

  • Lessons on how to feel the energy and heal oneself

  • additional meditation exercises

  • Suggested reading for further individual enlightenment

 

Reiki II (Prerequisite Reiki I)
Reiki two is when Sanskrit symbols are incorporated into the healing to increase the healing power; this degree focuses on emotional and mental healing of oneself and others.

  • Instructions on how Reiki is channelled through your body

  • Lessons on how to manifest what you want and need through intentions aided with Reiki

  • Personal empowerment using Reiki

  • Instructions on what to do during a healing session with another person

  • Group meditation

  • Second degree initiation or attunement

  • Practice using Reiki in groups

  • Recommendation of additional reading for advanced learning
